Vercel is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead procurement strategy for critical cloud infrastructure and AI providers. In this role, you will own end-to-end sourcing for compute, storage, and infrastructure capacity, developing commercial models that balance competitive economics with operational flexibility as Vercel scales rapidly. Key responsibilities include leading sourcing strategy and commercial negotiations with cloud hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle); structuring complex IaaS and capacity agreements that balance committed spend, consumption growth, and long-term unit economics; designing pricing structures (tiered, committed-volume, usage-based) that reflect actual consumption patterns and scale with growth; owning strategic sourcing for emerging AI infrastructure and hyperscaler relationships; partnering with Engineering, Finance, Legal, and other teams to forecast demand and translate growth into sourcing leverage; analyzing provider pricing, consumption patterns, and market dynamics to identify cost and risk reduction opportunities; and building AI-powered sourcing tools and playbooks for redlining, negotiation prep, benchmarking, and vendor reporting. You will report to the Head of Procurement and help define what an AI-native sourcing function looks like at Vercel as deal volume and spend continue to climb. Required qualifications include strong analytical skills in rate/unit-cost analysis, TCO modeling, and pricing model design; comfort operating at pace with high deal volume and ambiguity; clear communication with executives and negotiating partners; significant strategic sourcing experience owning cloud infrastructure deals with direct negotiation experience with major providers; deep understanding of cloud commercial models including IaaS, compute, storage, consumption-based pricing, and capacity agreements; experience leading complex, high-value negotiations where consumption forecasting is challenging; ability to evaluate tradeoffs between commitment, flexibility, unit economics, and pricing transparency; experience partnering with technical and financial stakeholders; and proven ability to manage strategic supplier relationships through negotiation, execution, monitoring, and renewal. Bonus experience includes sourcing AI/ML infrastructure for engineering-heavy organizations, direct negotiation with AI hyperscalers, and SaaS/enterprise software sourcing. The role is hybrid with anchor days Monday, Tuesday, and Friday for those within commuting distance of SF, NY, London, or Berlin offices.
