Valar Atomics is building scalable, advanced nuclear power systems to unlock clean, high-temperature energy for industrial applications, hydrogen production, and next-generation manufacturing. The company is constructing its first pilot plant in Orangeville, Utah, and is seeking a Director of Strategic Sourcing to lead the procurement organization.
In this role, you will build and lead a lean, high-impact sourcing team responsible for establishing supplier strategy across the entire supply chain. You will own cross-functional supplier selection, lead negotiations for critical components and services, and drive Total Cost of Ownership reduction through market analysis, should-cost modeling, RFx processes, and strategic negotiations.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing sourcing policies and procedures that maximize efficiency and scalability, deploying cost modeling to identify high-impact sourcing opportunities, and presenting sourcing strategy and results to executive leadership. You will build and maintain deep partnerships with best-in-class suppliers, track industry and market trends to inform strategy, and proactively identify, monitor, and mitigate supply base risks.
You will partner cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to improve policies and processes, develop strategic supplier agreements that protect functional relationships and ensure compliance, and support the manufacturing organization in securing materials and equipment required for operations.
