Salary: USD 193,000 - 244,000 / annual

Sila Nanotechnologies is a next-generation battery materials company on a mission to power the world's transition to clean energy. They engineer and manufacture breakthrough battery materials that significantly increase energy density while reducing size and weight, enabling smaller, more powerful batteries for consumer devices and electric vehicles. The Director of Strategic Planning will design, scale, and lead the overarching demand, production, and supply chain planning ecosystem for Sila's battery materials business. Sitting at the intersection of Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales, Strategy, and Finance, you will architect business processes, advanced systems, and executive reporting to drive organizational alignment. Key responsibilities include: - Leading and modernizing the end-to-end Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) framework, orchestrating long-term scenario planning, short-term production execution, inventory strategy, and cross-functional financial integration - Driving adoption of modern technologies, automation tools, and custom-built software applications to improve planning capabilities, user experience, and reporting transparency across the enterprise - Championing a push toward real-time scheduling, real-time inventory visibility, and next-generation ERP reporting capabilities to eliminate data latency in critical decision-making - Developing and refining value chain optimization models covering raw material strategy, internal process constraints, and multi-location factory synergies to support next-generation gigafactories - Partnering with Strategy, Product, and Finance executives to build multi-year forecasts that directly support Sila's commercial roadmap and capital planning - Building, mentoring, and inspiring a strategic planning team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, structured problem-solving, and cross-departmental collaboration You will transform traditional planning into an agile, tech-forward engine capable of supporting rapid gigafactory scaling, relentlessly pushing systems toward real-time optimization and adopting cutting-edge technologies. Requirements: - Minimum 10+ years in strategic planning, supply chain, or industrial operations leadership within complex manufacturing or hardware environments (battery, chemical, semiconductor, automotive) - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related technical field - Proven track record of evaluating, selecting, and implementing advanced planning technologies, custom-built software, and enterprise systems - Demonstrated expertise in value-chain optimization modeling, inventory theory, and real-time scheduling architectures - Strong executive presence with a track record of driving cross-functional consensus, building high-performing teams, and influencing executive leadership
