Sent is a Series A infrastructure company ($12M raised from Bessemer Venture Partners, Companyon Ventures, and others) building a unified API for A2P messaging across SMS, WhatsApp, and RCS. The intelligent routing model automates channel selection based on deliverability and cost, enabling customers to consolidate multi-channel messaging stacks.
You will be Sent's first Strategic Finance hire, working directly with the leadership team to own financial planning, modeling, and decision support. This is a high-impact individual contributor role that bridges analytical rigor with operational execution.
Key responsibilities:
- Own the financial model end-to-end (revenue, headcount, expenses, cash flow), keeping it current and actively used by leadership
- Drive planning cycles including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range scenario planning
- Serve as a trusted thought partner to leaders across the company, structuring decisions and tradeoffs through clear financial framing
- Build reporting and performance tracking infrastructure to keep leadership aligned on actuals vs. plan, risks, and opportunities
- Develop business cases and scenario analyses for new investments, strategic bets, and hiring decisions
- Analyze vendor spend, headcount costs, and infrastructure expenses to support budgeting
- Build scalable reporting cadence and templates: board decks, monthly business reviews, department-level P&Ls
The ideal candidate has come up through investment banking, private equity, or a high-growth startup and enjoys both the analytical and operational sides of finance. You might be a banker ready to move inside a company, a PE associate seeking something more entrepreneurial, or a startup finance person ready to go deeper. You operate with low oversight and high output, figuring out what's needed and executing.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in strategic finance, investment banking, private equity, or similarly analytical role at a high-growth company
- Strong financial modeling skills: you've owned a model from scratch, not inherited one; fast, precise, and comfortable building independently
- Ability to translate complex data into clear narrative and get non-technical stakeholders to act on insights
- Exposure to fundraising, board reporting, or investor relations
- Operates with low oversight and high output
