Protocol Labs Capital (PLC), the venture capital arm of Protocol Labs, is scaling from a single-fund operation into a multi-fund capital platform. We are seeking a Start Up Operator to build and execute the operational infrastructure that enables world-class execution across our growing venture business.
In this role, you will own operational authority over multiple critical processes: fundraising operations, marketing operations, business and financial operations, and cross-team dependencies. You will establish and run the operating cadence—planning, execution, retros, and reporting—while maintaining adaptability to changing conditions. This is a build-and-execute position where you create non-fragile structure amid ambiguity and leverage data, tooling, and process management to enable excellence without a large team.
Key responsibilities include:
**Operating Cadence & Coordination**: Manage planning, meeting agendas, follow-ups, and roadmap monitoring across PLC functions. Proactively identify operational and execution gaps before they compound. Shape reporting and metrics that give leadership clear, near real-time visibility into execution health.
**Execution & Accountability**: Translate operating-model decisions into processes that withstand scrutiny from institutional, high-net-worth, and family office investors. Track delivery against commitments, surface risks and blockers early, and coordinate cross-function activities. Support the operational backbone of venture-firm processes as fund count grows.
**Fund & Program Operations**: Oversee fund infrastructure decisions including CRM/Affinity administration, LP data platform evaluation, fund administration, and vendor management. Support fund structures and processes. Coordinate logistics, vendors, and cross-team dependencies spanning Marketing, Fundraising, Investor Relations, and Business Operations. Ensure every program ships on time, on budget, with clear ownership.
**Planning & Resource Management**: Drive quarterly planning cycles, translating strategy into concrete, resourced workstreams. Maintain visibility into priorities, timelines, and resourcing across current and future funds. Own budget tracking and variance awareness. Build lightweight, durable systems for tracking execution on top of Affinity, HubSpot, and existing tooling.
Success means PLC's functions run on a predictable cadence, execution is error-free, core tooling is current with correct data and low-friction usability, leadership can anticipate and delegate operational needs, and cross-functional risks are surfaced and resolved before deadlines are at risk.
