Join Kong's Technical Support Engineering (TSE) team to resolve complex, mission-critical issues across production and pre-production environments. This is an engineer-to-engineer role where you'll champion the customer's voice while directly influencing Kong's product and engineering roadmaps.
You will work with top developers globally, helping them implement Kong Products and Technologies, including the API Gateway and AI Gateway solutions. Your responsibilities include leading investigations of complex technical issues, conducting live troubleshooting calls and email support in enterprise environments, and creating knowledge articles to complement documentation. You'll work closely with engineering and product teams, providing real-time feedback on product performance and customer needs. Collaboration with customer-facing teams—Education, Technical Account Managers, CSMs, and Professional Services—is essential for resolving customer issues.
Beyond reactive support, you'll participate in driving innovation within the support team and company by identifying better ways to work, improving tools, and raising the bar on service delivery to Global 5000 customers. You'll provide technical mentorship to team members and contribute to ad hoc projects as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years in a high-touch, customer-facing technical role (Support Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or Technical Account Management)
- Strong foundation in API management, HTTP protocols, and modern application architectures
- Experience implementing secure authentication and authorization flows (OpenID Connect, OAuth)
- Expertise with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Serverless)
- Operational knowledge of Git/GitHub versioning, change control, and CI/CD workflows
- Ability to utilize AI tools (Claude, Gemini, etc.) to streamline technical workflows and diagnostics
