Lightspeed Commerce is seeking a Staff Technical Program Manager to design and own the Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC) execution model across Product, Engineering, and Design. This is a founding role for the function—you will define how work flows from idea to impact, establish one shared language for execution, and create trusted metrics that leaders can rely on.
Key responsibilities include:
**Define the Execution Model**: Design a PDLC framework that works across all product verticals and functions. Define what "good" looks like at each stage, including artifacts, checkpoints, and exit criteria.
**Build the Measurement System**: Establish metrics that give leaders visibility into work flow and bottlenecks. Design the framework to measure the system, not individual performance, with early visibility into blocked or off-track work.
**Drive Adoption**: Partner with Product, Engineering, and Design leaders across verticals to align on the model and earn genuine buy-in. Navigate real differences across business units without forcing false consistency.
**Build an AI-First PDLC**: Define what humans own versus what AI agents own at each stage. Partner with Engineering to identify where AI can accelerate delivery, build pilots, and measure ROI. Ensure human checkpoints remain genuine decisions, not rubber stamps.
**Evolve the Model**: Treat the framework as a living system. Review periodically, adjust based on what works, and report program health to senior leadership.
You bring experience designing or significantly evolving delivery frameworks and execution models (not just operating existing ones). You have a track record of leading cross-functional organizations through operational change, turning skepticism into genuine adoption. You excel at building measurement systems from ambiguous data and know which problems to prioritize. You've partnered with Engineering on applied AI or automation and can evaluate whether it actually accelerates delivery. You communicate credibly with senior leadership about program health, risk, and trade-offs. You influence and align senior stakeholders across functions without formal authority. You're comfortable with ambiguity and can independently structure a path forward.
You enjoy building from a blank page, hold strong views on "what good looks like" while staying open to data and teams, get energized aligning stakeholders with different perspectives, and think in systems and flow rather than individual tickets. English fluency is required as a working language.
