Arc is electrifying the marine industry by rethinking powertrains, software, and vessel designs from first principles. The company has proven core technology, is scaling production of flagship consumer models, and is now extending its platform to commercial applications including tugs, ferries, and defense vessels with signed contracts worth hundreds of millions. As Staff Technical Program Manager for Commercial, you will own commercial programs end-to-end, starting with a $160M contract to deliver a fleet of electric tugboats. Your responsibilities span the full lifecycle from award through delivery: owning schedule, scope, and risk management; translating won deals into structured, executable programs; contributing delivery and performance inputs to proposals; pressure-testing feasibility and timelines; managing shipyard and build-partner relationships; running internal operating cadence including kickoffs, milestone reviews, risk registers, and change control; synthesizing feedback to inform product roadmap and commercial playbooks; and building the program-management processes and tooling that will scale Arc's Commercial business. You'll partner closely with commercial sales leaders, engineering, supply chain, and executives to align build plans, long-lead items, and production readiness with customer commitments. Travel to partner companies (shipyards, operators) is required to coordinate design and build activities. This is a full-time, on-site role at Arc's Los Angeles headquarters. The ideal candidate has 7+ years delivering complex, multi-disciplinary hardware programs in marine/shipbuilding, EV/battery, aerospace, defense, or similar domains. You must be proficient in program planning (complex schedules, interdependencies, risk and change management), experienced working across the sales-to-execution boundary, skilled at communicating across engineering, manufacturing, sales, executives, and customers, and comfortable owning vendor or build-partner relationships directly. Government contracting experience (FAR/DFARS, ITAR), familiarity with marine classification processes, and experience standing up program-management processes in scaling organizations are bonuses. ITAR compliance required: applicants must be a U.S. person (citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee).
