Affirm is seeking an experienced Staff Technical Program Manager to lead high-visibility, complex technical programs across product and engineering teams. This role is critical as Affirm scales its product complexity and expands its consumer and merchant offerings. You will oversee multi-disciplinary programs that drive the company's mission of expanding consumer product capabilities and platform infrastructure. Key responsibilities include coordinating across engineering and non-engineering stakeholders throughout the full program lifecycle—from planning requirements and identifying risks to managing schedules and communicating with cross-functional partners. You'll develop deep technical knowledge at the architecture level, propose technical alternatives, and ask clarifying questions that push teams toward effectiveness. Your day-to-day work involves tracking progress, resolving dependencies, evaluating risks, and communicating status to upper management and stakeholders. You'll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Design, and Analytics teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery. The role emphasizes mentoring and leveling up team members while building a remote-friendly culture. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, plus 8+ years of proven technical program management experience. You should have a track record of successfully driving complex, large-scale technology applications and geographically distributed backend systems. Strong stakeholder management skills across engineering, product, design, and analytics are essential. Experience in fintech, payments, or commerce is a plus. Affirm is a remote-first company offering competitive total compensation including base salary, equity, health coverage, flexible spending wallets, and generous time off.
