Relativity Space is building rockets to serve today's needs and tomorrow's breakthroughs. The Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting growing demand for launch capacity. The Reliability team ensures quality is embedded into every stage of design and production, working directly with design, manufacturing, test, and launch teams to balance risk, foster ownership, and ensure speed never compromises reliability. As Staff Supplier Development Engineer, you will serve as the technical point of contact for rocket parts and assemblies, resolving manufacturing and quality issues to protect production schedules. You will lead new product introduction by selecting manufacturing methods, identifying suppliers, and developing scalable processes. Your responsibilities include conducting design for manufacturing (DFM) reviews and applying APQP principles to ensure efficient, high-quality production from early development stages. You will leverage expertise with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), and 8D problem solving. You will manage supplier sourcing and evaluations, issue corrective actions, and ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and NASA quality standards. You will create and develop specifications to communicate quality and manufacturing requirements across the supply base. Additionally, you will analyze defect data, lead root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions to improve supplier performance. This role is ideal for someone with 10+ years of experience in supplier quality or supplier development engineering, preferably in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing environments. You should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, or related STEM field, with deep knowledge of quality systems, manufacturing processes, and supplier management.
