Veeam, the Data and AI Trust Company, is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) specializing in Data Connectors & High-Scale Ingestion. You will serve as the technical authority responsible for designing testing frameworks and benchmarking tools that validate multi-source data integration pipelines processing petabyte-scale throughput across AWS, Azure, and Kubernetes environments.
In this role, you will design and execute scalable performance, backpressure, and stress-testing harnesses for ingestion connectors including REST, gRPC, CDC, Kafka, and RabbitMQ. You'll build comprehensive automation suites across AWS services (S3, SQS, Kinesis, EKS) and Azure services (Event Hubs, Blob, AKS) to test real-world connector data flows under degraded network conditions and extreme concurrency scenarios. A key responsibility is implementing automated fault-injection pipelines that simulate schema drift, network partitions, rate limits, and authentication failures to guarantee zero-data-loss execution. You will utilize Kubernetes to dynamically orchestrate transient, high-concurrency test clusters and mock target endpoints at scale.
Veeam protects over 550,000 customers worldwide and is headquartered in Seattle with offices in more than 30 countries. The company specializes in data resilience and data security posture management, built for the convergence of identity, data, security, and AI risk.
Benefits include unlimited paid time off, 12 paid holidays including 4 global VeeaMe Days for self-care, 24 paid volunteer hours annually, paid parental leave (8 weeks for all parents, 16 weeks for birthing parents), medical/dental/vision coverage starting day one, mental health support via Employee Assistance Program, 401(k) with company matching, fertility/adoption/surrogacy support through Maven, 24/7 virtual veterinary care, legal services, identity protection, and access to learning libraries including LinkedIn Learning and O'Reilly.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years of software engineering or SDET experience in C++, Java, Go, or Python
- Deep experience testing streaming architectures (Kafka, Event Hubs), queueing systems, and API protocols (gRPC, WebSockets, REST)
- Hands-on proficiency with AWS, Azure, and Kubernetes (Helm, custom controllers, or K8s operators)
- Proven track record building custom distributed load-generation tools (e.g., Locust, k6, custom Go/Java engines)
