OneTrust is seeking a Staff Quality Engineer (SDET) to lead test automation strategy and mentor a team of SDETs. The role combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering, requiring you to design and implement robust test automation frameworks, guide junior engineers, and ensure product quality across the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the SDET team
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks supporting functional, integration, and performance testing
- Collaborate with development and QE teams to integrate testing into the software development lifecycle
- Conduct peer reviews of test code and automation frameworks
- Work with developers on unit and integration tests using their tools and frameworks
- Execute and oversee test case execution with comprehensive coverage analysis
- Analyze test results and provide insights to improve product quality
- Participate in POCs to keep automation frameworks current with product offerings
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and stakeholders
- Maintain and update scripts in existing automation suites across release cycles
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical/business field
- 10+ years of relevant experience as a developer, automation engineer, or SDET
- 8+ years coding in Java with strong OOPs and Core Java knowledge
- 4+ years with Test-Driven Development or BDD (Cucumber, Junit, Mockito, TestNG)
- 3+ years with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Circle CI, Azure DevOps) and ability to create test pipelines using Java or Groovy
- 4+ years with Selenium or Cypress for GUI and E2E test automation
- 4+ years with REST Assured or similar tools (Postman) for API automation
- 4+ years in highly automated CI/CD environments
- 4+ years with source control tools (Bitbucket, GitHub, GitLab)
- 2+ years mining logs with tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, or Coralogix
- 3+ years in cloud environments, preferably Azure, with exposure to Gateways, Redis, Storage, VMs, and Kubernetes
- 3+ years testing mobile applications (native and web) using Appium on real devices and simulators
- 4+ years working with geographically distributed teams across US, Canada, and India
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and mentor others
- Passion for high-quality work and attention to detail
- Strong oral and written communication skills
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior exposure to AI/ML systems and their application in testing
- Experience analyzing CPU utilization, memory usage, network usage, garbage collection, and database parameters
- Ability to spin up scalable test architecture using Docker or Kubernetes
- Experience with Kubernetes and extended usage patterns for test grids and auto-scaling
