Skylo has pioneered standards-based satellite connectivity, connecting smartphones and IoT devices directly to satellites without special hardware. The company's direct-to-device service is live on millions of devices across five continents, covering over 72 million square kilometers in partnership with leading satellite operators, mobile network operators, chipset makers, and OEMs.
As a Staff QA Engineer, Performance Testing, you will be responsible for upholding the quality and reliability of Skylo's platform and cloud systems through rigorous testing and comprehensive quality assurance processes. Your work will validate the Data Mobility Platform, Subscriber & Provisioning Platform, and Cloud Services within GCP infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement automation test suites to validate customer-facing REST APIs and cloud components
- Create performance benchmarks for handling millions of subscriber and data transactions
- Develop frameworks and test suites for comprehensive load and regression testing
- Validate systems with millions of data transactions and generate detailed reports and KPIs
- Automate build processes with regression test suites using Jenkins pipelines and Robot Framework
- Automate operational processes related to network management, provisioning, and configuration
- Develop scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks and enhance efficiency
- Ensure changes to the Skylo network are version-controlled and reproducible
- Set up monitoring solutions to measure health and performance of software applications and network infrastructure
- Collaborate with telecom engineers, software developers, and cross-functional teams to streamline QA processes
- Champion robust test frameworks, automation, and documentation practices
The role is hybrid, requiring 3 days per week in the Bangalore office.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in validation and test automation of backend-heavy applications and services deployed in the cloud
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field
- Proven experience as a Cloud QA Engineer in the software industry
- Familiarity with REST APIs, cloud technologies, and architectures
- Validation experience in backend-heavy applications, services, databases, microservices, and scalability testing
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools/frameworks (Robot Framework, JMeter, TestNG)
- Ability to use Jenkins for test automation
- Strong knowledge of SDLC and agile methodologies, with understanding of code quality and performance metrics
- Solid understanding of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and version control systems (Git)
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Shell, Python, or Ruby)
- Understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies relevant to telecom industry
- Experience leveraging AI tools to generate test cases and test suites
- Experience with network configuration management tools
- Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
- Relevant certifications in Cloud QA are a plus
- Active habits using AI tools daily and ability to integrate new tools into workflow quickly
