Salary: USD 140,000 - 215,000 / annual

Agile Space Industries is a rapidly growing supplier of propulsion hardware and engineering services for the space industry, headquartered in Durango, Colorado, with expanding operations in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Seattle, Washington. The company has achieved over 40% year-over-year growth for the past three years and designs, builds, and tests in-space propulsion systems for missions ranging from lunar landings and resource utilization to national defense, human exploration, and commercial space transport. The Staff Project Engineer role is a technical leadership position responsible for driving technical execution across multidisciplinary teams developing in-space propulsion systems, engines, and related components. This position works across Program Management, Systems Engineering, Product Leads, Technical Fellows, engineering, manufacturing, test, suppliers, and customers to keep product development aligned with technical objectives, cost, schedule, and program priorities. Key Responsibilities: - Manage product development plans, technical logic, work packages, priorities, and key milestones - Coordinate technical execution across engineering, manufacturing, test, supply chain, quality, suppliers, and customers - Partner with Program Management to align technical objectives, resources, cost, and schedule - Facilitate technical decision-making and drive cross-functional issues to resolution - Coordinate technical risk and opportunity management - Maintain program technical baselines and manage technical changes - Manage technical documentation, gated reviews, interim reviews, and customer deliverables - Align program execution with Systems Engineering, Product Leads, and Technical Fellows The posting indicates this is an open position at multiple levels from Staff through Senior Principal, assessed based on experience, technical leadership, complexity, and scope of responsibility. The Staff Project Engineer IV level requires 10+ years of relevant engineering product development experience, independently leads technical execution of a program or major development effort, makes program-level technical decisions with limited oversight, and coordinates multidisciplinary teams. Senior Staff (Level V) and Principal (Level VI) levels have progressively higher experience thresholds and broader organizational impact. The role offers equity participation through a stock option plan (subject to executive review and approval), full-time employment with less than 25% travel, and benefits including health coverage, dental and vision plans, flexible time off, parental leave, and 401(k) with 100% company match up to 4%. Requirements: - B.S. in Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent professional experience - Relevant aerospace or hardware product development experience - Demonstrated technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams - Strong technical judgment and ability to work through complex development issues - Experience working with customers and cross-functional organizations - Strong written and verbal communication skills - For Staff level: 10+ years of relevant engineering product development experience - For Senior Staff level: 14+ years of relevant engineering product development experience - For Principal level: 20+ years of relevant engineering product development experience
