Flexport is seeking a Staff Program Manager, Strategic Initiatives to lead the design and deployment of next-generation fulfillment automation across its global network. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role combining strategic program management with technical execution.
You will own automation initiatives from conception through post-launch ROI validation. Responsibilities include: evaluating and implementing warehouse automation solutions (ASRS, AMRs, conveyor systems, goods-to-person technology); building financial models for capital projects worth tens of millions; defining automation requirements from operational data (throughput, labor rates, SKU profiles); managing implementation timelines and go-live readiness; and establishing SOPs and KPIs across the fulfillment network.
This role requires technical depth beyond traditional program management. You will develop tooling, dashboards, and analytical models using SQL, Python, and BI platforms. You'll use data to uncover bottlenecks, size automation opportunities, and drive capital allocation decisions. You'll prototype workflows on warehouse floors before scaling and partner across engineering, product, operations, and finance to align priorities.
The ideal candidate has 8+ years in fulfillment, logistics, supply chain, or operations strategy with direct exposure to high-volume networks and automation programs. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field is required. You must have proven end-to-end ownership of large-scale capital programs, hands-on experience with automation technologies (not just vendor management), and strong financial modeling skills. Comfort with ambiguity, technical problem-solving, and getting hands-on in warehouse environments is essential.
