Salary: USD 143,000 - 191,000 / annual

Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, seeks a Staff Product Sourcing Engineer to lead strategic supply network development and cost management for the Rocket Motor Systems (RMS) team. This role drives the sourcing strategy for next-generation solid rocket motors, partnering with suppliers and cross-functional teams across engineering, quality, and manufacturing. Key responsibilities include: conducting supplier selection and evaluation using approved supplier lists; partnering with strategic suppliers on concept scoping, design trade-offs, should-cost modeling, and joint design development; developing and consolidating manufacturing BOMs with quality and manufacturing teams; managing CAPEX throughout new product introduction; conducting value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility; completing BOM risk assessments and alternate component sourcing; ensuring component qualifications ahead of production; optimizing commonality and rationalizing components/suppliers; and leading cost engineering activities to align bottom-up cost curves with product targets while maximizing total cost of ownership across the product lifecycle. The role also manages ad-hoc cost issues such as tariffs, import/export costs, and cost inflation. Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field; 10+ years of experience in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement/development, or design of electronics/mechanical devices; domain expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO-related work at component and product levels; ability to travel up to 25%; and ability to relocate to Huntsville, AL for onsite work. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree; deeper experience in electronics/mechanical design, advanced sourcing activities, supplier development, and early supplier engagement; experience in highly regulatory environments, preferably energetics and solid rocket motor production; familiarity with high-mix, low-volume product development; startup environment exposure; and ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. TS/SCI clearance.
