Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, seeks a Staff Product Sourcing Engineer to lead strategic supply network development and cost management for the Rocket Motor Systems (RMS) team. This role is critical to building next-generation solid rocket motors and establishing Anduril as a large-volume provider of tactical rocket motors. You will drive supplier selection and strategic partnerships, leveraging an approved supplier list to accelerate product development. Key responsibilities include conducting concept scoping, feature trade-off analysis, should-cost modeling, and joint design development with suppliers. You'll manage bill-of-materials (BOM) development and consolidation across quality and manufacturing teams, ensuring high-flexibility production ramp-up both internally and with external suppliers. Capital expenditure management throughout new product introduction (NPI) falls under your purview, as does value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility. You will complete BOM risk assessments, identify alternate component sourcing, and ensure all component qualifications are completed before production. Your work includes complexity reduction through commonality optimization and supplier rationalization. Cost engineering is central to this role: you'll lead all activities to converge bottom-up cost curves to product targets, maximizing total cost of ownership (TCO) across product lifecycles. You'll also manage ad-hoc cost issues such as tariffs, import/export costs, and cost inflation. Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field; 10+ years in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement/development, or design of electronics/mechanical devices; domain expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO work at component and product levels; ability to travel up to 25%; willingness to relocate to Huntsville, AL for onsite work. Preferred: Master's degree; deeper experience in electronics/mechanical design, advanced sourcing, supplier development, or early supplier engagement; background in highly regulatory environments, particularly energetics and solid rocket motor production; familiarity with high-mix, low-volume product development; startup environment experience; ability to obtain and maintain U.S. TS clearance.
