StubHub is seeking a Staff Product Manager for Payments to own the end-to-end checkout and payments experience that enables fans to purchase tickets globally. This is a senior, hands-on product role focused on improving domestic and international buyer pipeline completion and authorization rates by expanding payment method coverage, orchestrating authorization optimization initiatives, and building adaptable systems that perform across diverse global markets.
You will serve as the clear owner of StubHub's payments and checkout experience, with accountability for buyer pipeline completion and authorization performance across 195 countries in 33 languages and 49 currencies. Key responsibilities include identifying and prioritizing opportunities to improve conversion across markets with different payment norms and issuer behaviors; defining success metrics and driving sustained improvements in checkout reliability; leading integrations with new international payment methods and providers; making strategic localization vs. global standardization decisions; designing and evolving routing strategies and issuer-facing optimizations; partnering with engineering and data science to build adaptive fraud and authorization systems; and orchestrating cross-functional initiatives across internal models, payment routing, and third-party tools.
You will also manage and mentor a fellow product manager in the payments space, guiding their priorities and supporting their growth while remaining hands-on in your own work. You'll work closely with engineering, data science, risk, and operations teams to solve complex approval-rate challenges, balancing global consistency with local optimization. Additionally, you'll partner with accounting, finance, and legal to onboard new payment vendors and renegotiate agreements, drive build vs. buy decisions, and translate complex payments and fraud challenges into clear product strategy and execution plans.
The role is hybrid (3 days in office / 2 days remote) with office locations in Los Angeles, New York, or San Francisco.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years of experience in product management, with significant experience in payments, fintech, fraud technology, or adjacent financial systems
- Strong technical and analytical fluency; comfortable working with payments data and complex system flows
- Experience integrating with payment methods, processors, and fraud tools, including vendor evaluation and system design
- Ability to operate independently in ambiguous problem spaces, setting direction while driving hands-on execution
- Systems thinker who understands how checkout experience, authorization logic, and risk controls interact across a global ecosystem
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills, with experience partnering closely with engineering, data science, risk, and operations teams
