Abby Care is building an AI-native platform for family-led care, addressing America's growing care crisis by empowering over 50 million family caregivers with tools, training, and support. The platform combines clinical oversight with AI to help families deliver high-quality home-based care while providing health plans and government partners with transparency and verification of care outcomes.
As Staff Product Manager for Clinical Monitoring & Intervention, you will set the standard for how AI-powered features reach caregivers and clinicians across Abby's platform. Operating with high autonomy, you'll partner closely with founder, clinical, and engineering leadership to redefine what's possible in home-based care and influence how the entire product organization approaches AI.
Key responsibilities include:
- Define evaluation standards and gates that clinical or caregiver-facing AI features must clear before production, establishing what "ready" means and raising the bar for feature quality.
- Own cross-surface AI consistency, ensuring that caregiver and clinician products reason about the same patient identically, so signals captured on one surface are reflected in the other.
- Set the bar for AI product development across the organization by partnering with other PMs to raise standards for AI-feature specs, evaluation criteria, and collaboration with Applied AI teams.
- Partner directly with Applied AI leadership on architecture-level decisions for how caregiver and clinician AI systems are evaluated, monitored, and iterated post-launch.
- Build evaluation frameworks that hold up against clinical scrutiny and payer/compliance review, ensuring products are rigorous enough to trust in regulated, clinically critical contexts.
Success means shipping clinical or caregiver-facing AI features that clear documented shadow-mode evaluation against real dispositions; proving that caregiver-side and clinician-side AI systems reason consistently about the same patient with no contradicting baselines or dropped signals at handoffs; and establishing your evaluation standard as the bar other AI PMs at Abby Care follow.
This is a full-time hybrid role based in San Francisco, California.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years of product management experience with a proven track record of leading complex, high-impact AI or ML product initiatives at a Staff or Lead PM level in a high-growth tech environment.
- Direct experience designing evaluation frameworks for AI systems in production and deciding how AI features' real-world performance is measured, monitored, and gated before and after launch.
- Strong technical acumen, particularly in working with engineering and Applied ML/AI teams to build data-intensive or AI-driven platforms. Must be able to deeply evaluate technical trade-offs (coding not required).
- Deep empathy for users (family caregivers and care recipients) and a rigorous approach to qualitative and quantitative research in a regulated environment.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced startup environments, adapt quickly, solve challenges creatively, and deliver results without unnecessary complexity.
- Exceptional communication skills to distill complex healthcare and technical concepts into clear, actionable product requirements and compelling strategic narratives for executives.
BONUS / NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience in HealthTech, Medicaid waivers, or highly regulated industries where AI decisions carry compliance or clinical-safety weight.
- Strong background with LLMs, machine learning, or AI-native consumer products.
- Previous experience navigating marketplace or labor-supply business models (e.g., gig economy, digital health).
