Salary: USD 191,000 - 292,000 / annual

Anduril Industries is seeking a Staff Modeling, Simulation and Analysis (MSA) Engineer to join the Flight Engineering team within the Air Dominance and Strike organization. This is a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge flight system technologies for advanced aerospace systems, including tactical missile systems, strategic weapons, and hypersonic strike and defense systems. You will develop, implement, and maintain high-fidelity virtual representations of various vehicles across Anduril's portfolio. Working with multi-disciplinary subject matter experts, you will create physics-based digital representations of flying vehicles and coordinate deployment and maintenance of vehicle models and simulation instantiations across multiple programs. Key responsibilities include: - Developing simulation solutions for Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) algorithm development - Creating and maintaining Software-In-The-Loop (SITL), Hardware-In-The-Loop (HITL), and Pilot-In-The-Loop (PITL) solutions - Conducting Monte-Carlo simulation analysis and test data analysis - Modeling sub-system, system, and system-of-system dynamics in collaboration with subject matter experts - Owning end-to-end configuration of SITL, HITL, and PITL for test vehicles in support of safe and efficient flight tests - Supporting customer product training solutions - Processing flight test data and correlating with simulation results - Working with internal and external customers to understand simulation requirements and develop efficient solutions The ideal candidate has deep aerospace systems experience and understands the appropriate fidelity levels for sub-system and system-level modeling to integrate with flight control and mission autonomy software. You will be proficient in vehicle and sub-system modeling, coding practices, and software integration. Anduril's Flight Engineering team is integral to development of flight system solutions across all domains. The company fosters a dynamic learning culture through modeling, simulation, analysis, and rigorous ground and flight test experimentation. You will be directly involved in flight testing the systems you develop. Current products include Barracuda (surface-launched missile with manufacturing contract) and Roadrunner (ramping manufacturing), plus other classified missile programs. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or related technical discipline - 12+ years of professional experience - Experience with aerospace/aeronautical systems (missiles, rotorcraft/VTOL, or subsea vehicles) - Strong background in flight dynamics, platform physics, and control systems - Proficiency with C/C++ - Advanced proficiency with scientific computing systems (MATLAB, Simulink, scientific Python including numpy and scipy) - Flight test data processing and simulation correlation experience - Experience developing sub-system and system-level models (air vehicles, ground vehicles, ground-based sensors, complex systems) - Experience with model development supporting GNC algorithm development - Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Advanced proficiency with C/C++ - Flight test support experience - Experience with SITL and HITL simulation infrastructure design, development, and deployment for complex systems - Experience developing emulated/simulation interfaces for on-board avionics
