webAI is building a flagship cross-platform mobile application using Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) and Compose Multiplatform, with native SwiftUI integration. As a Staff Mobile Engineer, you will be a senior technical contributor responsible for architecting and implementing core mobile infrastructure and features.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing shared Kotlin Multiplatform modules that provide significant, testable business logic and data repositories used across platforms
- Writing Compose Multiplatform UI code and native SwiftUI interfaces that consume shared code modules
- Integrating on-device and remote AI frameworks into the application
- Profiling, optimizing, and hardening app performance on real devices; troubleshooting complex technical issues
- Conducting rigorous code reviews (including AI-generated diffs), establishing project conventions, and mentoring teammates to improve code quality
This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will guide the mobile engineering direction while remaining deeply involved in implementation. You will work at the intersection of mobile development and AI integration, with significant autonomy over architectural decisions.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of mobile development with shipped production apps on Android, iOS, or both
- Strong Kotlin skills including coroutines and Flows
- Demonstrated interest in AI engineering
- Solid experience with mobile tooling and app stores
- Strong mobile product instincts
Preferred qualifications:
- Compose Multiplatform or strong Jetpack Compose experience, including understanding of recomposition stability
- SwiftUI experience and comfort working at the Swift/Kotlin boundary via SKIE, Swift Export, or hand-written interoperability code
- Experience with Rust UniFFI, C++, or JavaScript
- Open-source contributions to ML/AI or KMP libraries
