Rezilient Health is redefining primary care through a CloudClinic model that combines virtual provider visits with cutting-edge technology. The company seeks a Staff Mobile Engineer to own the technical strategy and architecture for Rezilient's member mobile app—the primary touchpoint for members between visits. This is a hands-on senior technical leadership role for someone who has built and scaled consumer-grade native mobile health apps. You will lead the rebuild of the app alongside a new brand, making multi-quarter platform decisions (such as where the React Native codebase should remain cross-platform versus go native) that the organization trusts to be correct. Key responsibilities include: - Owning mobile technical strategy and architecture across iOS and Android, with authority over major platform decisions - Leading hands-on delivery of the rebuilt member app, writing production code while setting patterns for other engineers - Establishing mobile engineering standards for app architecture, state and offline data handling, performance budgets, accessibility, testing, and code review - Building mature release engineering with automated build, test, and release pipelines, code signing, phased rollouts, feature flags, and crash-free rate monitoring - Designing secure, low-friction authentication and on-device handling of PHI (Protected Health Information), including biometrics, session management, secure storage, and HIPAA-aligned logging - Architecting health and device data integration (Apple HealthKit, Android Health Connect, third-party wearables APIs) for clinical workflows - De-risking high-impact mobile initiatives, including safe patterns for AI-enabled features and AI-assisted app development - Working as a triad with Senior Product Manager and Senior UX Designer to shape consumer-grade experience, using analytics and experimentation to drive engagement and retention - Mentoring front-end and mobile engineers through pairing and design reviews You will directly influence whether members return to the app and how safely Rezilient delivers care through it. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field (advanced degree a plus) - 12–15 years of software engineering experience, including 7+ years building and shipping native mobile apps with a track record of owning mobile architecture through significant scale or growth - Deep, hands-on expertise in native iOS (Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, Swift concurrency, Xcode) and native Android (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines and Flow, Gradle) - Shipped and scaled at least one consumer (B2C or B2B2C) mobile health, wellness, or fitness app with a large active user base and strong product instincts for onboarding, engagement, and retention - Experience integrating health data platforms and connected devices (Apple HealthKit, Android Health Connect, Bluetooth LE, third-party wearables APIs) - Deep expertise in mobile security and compliance, including HIPAA-aligned PHI handling on device, secure authentication (OAuth 2.0 / OIDC, biometrics), and encrypted local storage - Proven mobile release discipline: CI/CD (Fastlane, Bitrise, GitHub Actions), automated testing (XCTest, Espresso, Detox, Maestro), crash and performance monitoring (Crashlytics, Sentry), and app store release management - Proven technical leadership making architectural decisions across teams, growing senior engineers, and partnering with Product, Design, and Clinical leaders on strategy Preferred qualifications: - Production experience with React Native and TypeScript, including New Architecture (Fabric, TurboModules) and native module development, with sound judgment about when to go native - Experience leading a mobile app rebuild or re-platform, including incremental migration of a live app without disrupting users - Experience shipping AI- or LLM-powered features in a consumer mobile app - Familiarity with regulatory and platform considerations for digital health apps (FDA general wellness vs. software-as-a-medical-device boundaries, App Store health data policies) - Experience in a startup or growth-stage environment
