Form Energy is seeking a Staff Industrial Engineer to serve as the analytical backbone of its manufacturing operations. You will develop and maintain comprehensive factory simulation models using discrete-event simulation and process flow analysis to predict throughput, identify bottlenecks, and optimize layout efficiency. Your work will directly inform capital planning, production roadmaps, and long-term operational strategy.
You will partner closely with the Factory Design Manager and Automation Strategy Engineer to validate manufacturing concepts, stress-test scaling plans, and ensure systems are built for sustainable operational success. Key responsibilities include conducting detailed capacity analysis against production volume targets, refining facility layouts to optimize floorspace utilization and material flow, and modeling the integration of automated systems into workflows. You'll perform sensitivity analysis on critical process variables—uptime, yield, setup time—to assess design robustness under varying scenarios, then present data-driven findings to cross-functional leadership with actionable recommendations.
Form Energy manufactures long-duration iron-air battery systems for grid-scale energy storage. The company has secured contracts with leading US utilities and is ramping production at its 550,000-square-foot facility in Weirton, WV (near Pittsburgh). The role is based on-site at this hub for high-volume battery production.
You bring 7+ years of industrial engineering or manufacturing systems modeling experience in complex production environments. You are proficient in factory simulation software (FlexSim, AnyLogic, Arena, or equivalent) and advanced capacity modeling tools (Excel, Python, SQL). You translate complex process requirements into validated, high-fidelity models, understand lean manufacturing and logistics optimization, and communicate quantitative insights effectively to diverse stakeholders. A bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field is required. Relocation assistance is available.
