Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Staff Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Engineer to join the Flight Engineering department within the Air Dominance and Strike organization. This role is integral to the development of flight system solutions for aerospace platforms, including the Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) program—Anduril's flagship autonomous aircraft initiative for the U.S. Air Force.
As a Staff-level GNC Engineer, you will drive the design, development, testing, and implementation of cutting-edge flight system technologies. You will be responsible for developing and implementing algorithms for guidance, navigation, and control systems; designing and assessing GNC architectures considering all system elements (spacecraft, sensors, actuators, algorithms); and using multidisciplinary design, analysis, and optimization (MDAO) techniques to balance performance, cost, and risk. You will participate in all phases of system development from concept through design, prototyping, testing, and operation, and will be involved in flight testing the systems you develop.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (systems engineers, flight software engineers, test engineers) to ensure system-wide integration; contributing to design reviews, safety assessments, and system documentation; using simulation and analysis tools to verify GNC models and system performance; providing system engineering expertise in GNC development; troubleshooting and resolving GNC-related issues during design, testing, and operational phases; and staying current with latest technologies and trends in GNC engineering and system architecture design.
Anduril fosters a dynamic learning culture characterized by accelerated knowledge acquisition through modeling, simulation, analysis, and rigorous, frequent ground and flight test experimentation. You will work on advanced aerospace systems including missiles, unmanned air vehicles, and related technologies such as Fury (CCA vehicle with manufacturing contract), Barracuda, Roadrunner, Omen, and Thunder.
