Salary: USD 161,000 - 227,500 / annual
Skydio is seeking a Staff Global Supply Manager to develop and execute commodity sourcing strategies for high-quality drone components at scale. This role focuses on sourcing mechanical manufacturing components and tooling—including UAV motors, injection molding, CNC machining, die casting, metal extrusions, fasteners, composites, liquid silicone rubber molding, and precision metal stamping—while building and improving the company's supply chain and sourcing processes.
Key responsibilities include developing technology and commodity roadmaps for current and future programs, serving as the liaison between supply chain and engineering during new product introduction and sustaining projects, and identifying new high-potential suppliers globally. You will cultivate productive relationships with supply chain partners, manage vendor selection, and own RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes through to business award decisions. You'll drive price negotiation to ensure best-in-class commodity pricing, analyze current spend and supplier performance, consolidate spend across the supply base for leverage, and monitor market conditions and technology roadmaps to identify supply/demand challenges and opportunities.
Additional responsibilities include working with finance and accounting during monthly close and financial planning cycles on component pricing and custom tooling investments, and identifying and managing supplier performance metrics across technology availability, component quality, supply reliability, and cost.
Ideal candidates bring flexibility in fast-paced startup environments, detail orientation, and strong communication skills. Technical and commercial experience with mechanical component surface treatments (corrosion-resistant, decorative, RF performance coatings) is valued. You should have expertise in tooling capacity management, complex negotiations, cost/price analysis, RFP/Q review, and business award processes. Experience with cost modeling, supplier contracts (MSAs, SOWs, NDAs), early supplier involvement (ESI) facilitation, and comparative analysis of sourcing alternatives is essential. Interest in emerging technologies spanning consumer electronics, aerospace, robotics, and advanced manufacturing processes is a plus.
