Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, seeks a Staff Global Sourcing Manager for Battery Pack (High Voltage Systems) based in Costa Mesa, California. This is a domain expert role responsible for battery commodities sourcing and supply chain strategy.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing commodity strategies for batteries with focus on cost reduction, quality improvement, and supply chain resilience. You will own end-to-end responsibility for delivering quality parts at the right cost and act as the sourcing expert for battery manufacturing. The role involves leading RFI/RFQ/RFP processes, managing relationships with contract manufacturers, and ensuring continuity of supply, risk management, and cost negotiations.
You will partner with engineering teams and contract manufacturers to influence technical design specifications and customize product and manufacturing requirements. The position requires detailed analysis of quote submissions using total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis and data-driven decision-making. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to support prototype requirements, execute build milestones, and lead sourcing activities.
Additional responsibilities include negotiating key supplier agreements for pricing, quality, flexibility, delivery, and service terms; developing commercial agreements reflecting project expectations; conducting regular technology reviews to executive staff; and managing supplier performance metrics including delivery, quality, cost, and innovation. You will serve as the primary escalation point for battery commodities and influence contract manufacturers' processes and technology decisions.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, or related technical field; 10+ years of experience in supply chain commodity management of batteries manufacturing and/or sourcing engineering; ability to travel up to 50%; ability to relocate to Costa Mesa if not already local.
Preferred qualifications include Bachelor's in electrical/electronics engineering, prior defense/aerospace/automotive/high-tech industry experience, TCO analysis expertise, strategic commodity planning experience, proven cross-functional leadership, and ability to obtain and maintain U.S. TS clearance.
