Anduril Industries is seeking a Staff Engineering Project Manager to own programme execution for the Dive-XL Autonomous Underwater Vehicle system as it transitions from development into production. Reporting to the Director of Platforms, you will combine rigorous programme management with genuine technical depth, engaging substantively on system architecture, interfaces, and verification approaches alongside engineering discipline leads.
Key responsibilities include:
• Own end-to-end programme planning for the vehicle system: scoping, sequencing, dependency mapping, risk identification, and driving decisions when requirements, timelines, or resourcing conflict.
• Stand up and run the scaled agile cadence across the vehicle programme, coordinating planning increments and cross-team dependencies across approximately 100 engineers spanning multiple agile teams. Own the rhythm of PI planning, backlog alignment, system demos, and inspect-and-adapt events, ensuring ceremonies drive actual decisions.
• Implement and maintain robust project management methodologies and best practices across the programme, driving predictability and accountability.
• Proactively identify and mitigate programme risks and challenges, developing mitigation plans alongside the engineers executing them.
• Engage with the technical substance of the programme—architecture, requirements baselines, interfaces, and verification approach—to catch problems early rather than simply tracking status.
• Partner with discipline leads as a technical peer, pressure-testing estimates and identifying missing scope before schedule or resourcing decisions are made.
The XL Vehicle System team owns the vehicle end-to-end across systems, software, mechanical, electrical, integration, and test. The Dive-XL programme is designed, built, and tested in Australia and is executing against live contracts. This role requires both programme management rigor and the ability to engage substantively with complex technical systems.
