Oura is seeking a Staff Engineering Program Manager for Core Technologies to lead the maturation of emerging hardware technologies before they transition into new product introduction (NPI) programs. This is a strategic role within the Hardware TPM team, responsible for shepherding multiple fast-moving initiatives across mechanical, electrical, firmware, software, sensing, silicon, materials, and adjacent engineering domains. You will lead multiple core technology initiatives, driving technical feasibility, risk reduction, and readiness assessments for transfer into product development. Key responsibilities include partnering closely with senior engineers, designers, supply managers, and cross-functional leaders to define scope, objectives, milestones, deliverables, and success criteria. You'll establish development plans and readiness criteria that clarify when technologies are ready to enter productization. The role requires driving cross-functional alignment, identifying and mitigating technical, supply, schedule, and integration risks early, and leading prototype builds, feasibility experiments, and design-of-experiments. You'll provide clear program reporting on status, risks, decisions, and resource needs, while supporting external partners and vendors. Additionally, you'll help define and refine the core technology development process, including how technologies are incubated, matured, and transferred into NPI teams, while fostering strong execution, open communication, and collaborative accountability. The position is hybrid based in San Francisco with in-office collaboration required and global travel to offices and suppliers (25–30% travel expected). This role suits experienced technical program managers comfortable with ambiguity, cross-disciplinary complexity, and early-stage development work.
