Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is building next-generation AI-driven maritime manufacturing facilities. The Manufacturing Technology Maritime Team is developing advanced manufacturing processes and technologies for large-scale autonomous maritime systems.
In this Staff Engineer role, you will own the integrated master schedule (IMS) that drives production for a state-of-the-art maritime manufacturing facility. Rather than managing twenty disconnected spreadsheets, you will establish one unified schedule and make daily decisions about what the production floor builds next. You are responsible for the overall standup and management of the production process schedule, driving rate readiness through rigorous planning, analysis, and cross-functional coordination.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining the integrated master plan and integrated master schedule for module production, horizontally and vertically integrated across engineering, material, manufacturing, and quality
- Identifying and resolving critical path and network logic conflicts; communicating schedule changes and their drivers to the program
- Managing shop load and dispatch decisions based on real material availability, qualified labor capacity, and open nonconformances
- Measuring schedule adherence and earned value; feeding variances back into the plan for continuous improvement
- Re-baselining when program changes occur, supported by rigorous risk analysis
This is a high-impact individual contributor role at the Staff level, requiring deep expertise in production planning and the ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct management authority.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years in production planning, production control, or master scheduling in shipbuilding, aerospace, or heavy manufacturing
- Demonstrated program-level planning experience: ability to build and manage integrated schedules for complex manufacturing or defense programs
- Proven track record building and maintaining a real integrated schedule against actual production builds, holding the critical path when both material and labor constraints shifted
- Familiarity with controlled production environments (defense, aerospace, automotive, or similar)
- Fluency with scheduling toolsets (P6, MS Project, Open Plan, Aurora) and ERP/MES systems (Forge, Odoo, SAP, Solumina, Oracle)
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
- No degree required; apprenticeship, Navy Nuclear Power School, military experience, or trade-path background to planning all count
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Submarine or surface-ship construction experience: stage of construction, work control, outfitting, planning value stream
- Knowledge of Critical Chain / Theory of Constraints and buffer management
- Earned value management experience
- Experience standing up a new production line or factory from greenfield
- Background in defense manufacturing (torpedoes, missiles, submarines, aircraft)
- Digital-native mindset: comfortable with modern tools, automation, and data-driven approaches
- PMP, PMI-SP, or equivalent scheduling certification
