Flow is a systems engineering platform for hardware teams, used by companies like Rivian to keep requirements, interfaces, tests, and design decisions connected in a single live system. The company is backed by Sequoia and growing rapidly in an industry actively rethinking how engineering work gets done. As a Deployment Strategist, you will own the end-to-end deployment process for a portfolio of customer accounts. Your role sits at the intersection of sales, engineering, and the customer, turning signed deals into sustained, organization-wide usage. The core challenge: Flow is a system of record, so partial adoption creates two sources of truth and destroys value. You will migrate requirements out of legacy tools and spreadsheets, configure Flow around how each customer's programs actually run, redesign workflows with their systems engineers, train teams, and drive the change management needed to convert skeptics into daily users—including engineers who didn't vote for the purchase. For integration-heavy work, you'll partner with a software-focused engineer on the team; your center of gravity is the organizational and change-management side. This role is ideal for someone who started in hardware engineering programs and prefers working across many customers rather than staying inside one company. Because this function is being built now, what you learn becomes the playbook future hires will follow. Key responsibilities: - Run deployments end to end: kickoff, migration, configuration, workflow redesign, training, and adoption tracking - Drive organizational change inside customer engineering organizations: identify champions, work through blockers, and ensure adoption sticks after you leave - Define success metrics for each deployment, instrument adoption, diagnose stalls, and run recovery plans before renewal risk emerges - Design each customer's Flow setup around their programs and direct integration work with deployment engineers - Serve as the product team's eyes and ears in the field, shaping what the company builds next - Partner with sales representatives and account executives, especially when deployments surface expansion opportunities - Help build the deployment methodology: playbooks, implementation guides, and training materials for future team members Requirements: - Consultative mindset: you diagnose before prescribing, and people trust you quickly, including skeptics - Proven track record of making organizational change stick; ability to tell the story of how you did it - Comfort in rooms with systems and hardware engineers; ability to translate between technical and executive perspectives - Experience running long, multi-team rollouts like a program: planning, milestones, stakeholder management, crisp written status, no dropped threads - Working-level comfort with technical surface: data migration, configuration, APIs - Desire for early-team experience: ambiguity, ownership, in-person presence in SF - Hard requirement: real customer-facing work experience. You must have owned relationships with customers, clients, or external partners professionally, whether in pre-sales, post-sales, deployment, consulting, or a customer-facing engineering role.
