Jerry is building an AI-powered platform to manage all your physical assets—starting with car insurance and expanding into home, motorcycle, RV, and beyond. The company has reached 5M+ customers, raised $240M+, scaled revenue 70X, and achieved profitability in early 2024. They are now scaling toward 50M customers and a $10B valuation.
The Data Science & Analytics team is a core strategic function composed of former McKinsey, BCG, and Bain consultants who drive insights and inform decision-making across product, growth, tech, and operations. Each team member is embedded within a business unit, owning the analytical function end-to-end rather than simply running analyses and building dashboards.
As a Staff Data Scientist, you will be embedded in one of Jerry's core business areas—Growth Marketing, Product Development, AI & Automation, or Strategic Partnerships—and own the analytical function for that business unit end-to-end. Your responsibilities include:
- Define the right problems: Understand what business question an analysis answers and what decision it will inform. Push back if the question is flawed or misaligned.
- Data and insights: Define metrics, build reports, run analyses, design experiments, and surface data insights that move your team's key metrics.
- Drive outcomes: Bring recommendations to counterparts in product, growth, finance, or operations; explain what's happening and why; and drive next steps.
The role is hands-on and execution-focused. You will surface analytical insights, drive decisions, and see them through end-to-end. The culture emphasizes no slides, no corporate fluff, and no unnecessary meetings—only work that materially changes the business trajectory.

The company is remote-first but has offices in Palo Alto, New York City, Chicago, and Toronto. Candidates must currently reside in AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, MA, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OR, TN, TX, UT, VA, or Ontario, Canada.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 6+ years of experience at a consulting firm, investment bank, or high-growth technology company
- Strong analytical skills; ability to pull, structure, and interpret data independently
- Track record of owning ambiguous problems and delivering impact
- Clear, persuasive communicator who can influence decisions at the leadership level
- First principles thinker who breaks ambiguous problems into clear hypotheses before touching data
- Comfortable with SQL or Python
- Direct communicator who can walk skeptical stakeholders through complex findings and get buy-in
