Salary: USD 97,750 - 132,250 / annual
Tendo is seeking a Senior Clinical Data Analyst to drive operational improvements across their healthcare customers through deep analytics expertise. In this role, you will identify opportunities that help customers meet financial, quality, and operational goals by translating complex inpatient workflows and EHR documentation into reliable, actionable measures.
You will own the full data lifecycle: gathering requirements, sourcing and cleaning data, building and maintaining extracts, reports, dashboards, and self-service analytics products. Working closely with Tendo's team and customer stakeholders—including nursing leadership, service line directors, quality teams, and informatics specialists—you'll ensure that metrics reflect actual bedside workflows. Your responsibilities include translating clinical documentation (flowsheets, order sets, clinical notes, ADT movements, results, charge capture) into defined, reproducible measures; validating metric logic against frontline operations; monitoring production pipelines for data quality; and supporting performance improvement initiatives around length of stay, throughput, capacity, care variation, and quality measures.
You'll also collaborate with Data Scientists on predictive modeling, contribute to shared SQL and development standards, and prepare materials for customer presentations. This is a high-impact role where your work directly shapes customer success and company growth.

**Requirements:**
- 5+ years of experience in clinical data analytics within a healthcare setting
- One of the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business/Finance, or Health Sciences
- Master's degree in Public Health, Data Science, Business Administration, or Statistics
- Relevant work experience and portfolio of projects
- Core competencies:
- Business intelligence tools (PowerBI, Business Objects: Crystal Reports, Universe, Web Intelligence preferred)
- SQL querying and data manipulation, including Stored Procedures and query optimization (Microsoft SQL Server preferred)
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) analytics (Epic Clarity and Caboodle highly desired)
- Knowledge of clinical documentation in EHR and ability to extract data based on workflow description
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously
**Nice to Have:**
- Professional software development experience (source control/git, issue tracking, CI/CD, code reviews, Agile/Scrum)
- AWS technology stack (S3, Glue, Athena, EMR)
- Healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, ICD, SNOMED, LOINC)
- Delta Lake and/or Databricks
- Apache Spark (PySpark or Scala)
- Python programming
- Machine learning workflows and ML framework data requirements
