Salary: USD 185,000 - 200,000 / annual

We are seeking a Staff Cloud Operations Engineer to join our Cloud Ops team. This is a senior individual contributor role with technical leadership scope across cloud infrastructure and operations. Key Responsibilities: - Coordinate cross-functionally with technical and non-technical staff across departments, including partnering on workflow automation (crons, n8n, Airflow) that bridges infrastructure and business processes - Manage the process side of Ops: running outage incidents, working within compliance requirements, coordinating sprints, collecting metrics for management reporting, and maintaining documentation - Maintain and improve incident response processes and tooling, ensuring accurate, reliable, and proactive monitoring across the application stack - Ensure cloud infrastructure compliance with relevant security and regulatory standards - Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure in GCP - Ensure cloud infrastructure is scalable, secure, and highly available - Build automation that reduces toil and enables infrastructure to self-heal during production incidents - Troubleshoot issues and provide support for cloud infrastructure and observability tools - Mentor junior engineers on a project basis (not a day-to-day people management role) The role involves a 24/7 on-call rotation and requires comfort with leveraging AI tools (Claude, Copilot, Gemini) to accelerate work. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience - Minimum 5 years of professional, expert-level experience in cloud infrastructure engineering (preferably GCP) - Experience with observability tools and processes (monitoring, logging, tracing) - Strong experience in at least one programming/scripting language (Python, Bash, Java, or Go) - Experience with containerization technologies (Docker and Kubernetes) - Experience collaborating with network and application security teams; ability to make sound security-informed judgments - Ability to work in a 24/7 on-call rotation - Comfortable leveraging AI tools to accelerate work Nice to Haves: - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git - Collaboration experience with Data Engineering teams - Experience with automation and configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef) - Previous experience in a 24/7 on-call environment - Mentorship or technical leadership experience
