IonQ, a leading quantum computing platform company (NYSE: IONQ), is seeking a Staff Client Systems Engineer to architect and optimize the global endpoint ecosystem and employee lifecycle automation. This is a principal-level individual contributor role based in Seattle, WA (with flexibility for College Park, MD or remote US).
You will own the design and implementation of enterprise-grade operating system configurations and "Gold Images" across a diverse environment spanning macOS, Windows 10/11, and Ubuntu Linux. This includes architecting zero-touch provisioning workflows using Autopilot and Apple Device Enrollment, optimizing Unified Endpoint Management platforms (Jamf, Intune, Kandji), and ensuring flawless hardware staging and deployment.
Beyond endpoint management, you will serve as the strategic technical bridge between IT and HR, architecting the automated enterprise identity pipeline between Workday and Okta. You will design and implement intelligent onboarding, offboarding, and transfer workflows, including automated intake forms and intelligent provisioning logic that ensures instant downstream SaaS provisioning, precise access revocation, and tight security governance.
Key responsibilities include: designing and maintaining enterprise endpoint configurations; architecting zero-touch provisioning and modern MDM/UEM platforms; building the end-to-end Workday-to-Okta lifecycle automation pipeline; designing automated workflows for hiring, transfers, and terminations; and serving as a Tier-3 escalation point and mentor to the IT team.
This role is critical to scaling IonQ's global infrastructure, eliminating manual IT overhead, and ensuring a secure, seamless day-one experience for employees worldwide. You will work with a high-caliber team at a quantum computing company backed by major cloud providers and enterprise customers including AWS and AstraZeneca. Approximately 10% travel (domestic or international) is expected.
