Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company building energy-efficient solutions to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. They own and operate each layer of the stack—from electrons to tokens—to address the critical bottleneck of power in AI compute.
As a Staff Applications Estimator, you will be the critical technical link between customer requests, sales strategy, and manufacturing proposals. You'll drive sales growth by ensuring accurate project cost estimation, quotation precision, and seamless handoffs to engineering and production teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interface directly with customers and technical consultants to clarify project scope, resolve technical ambiguities, and gather requirements for accurate bids
- Generate detailed Scope of Work (SOW) documents defining all services, deliverables, and specifications
- Analyze customer-provided specifications, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and single-line schematics to confirm technical completeness and feasibility
- Develop, maintain, and refine standardized pricing tools, cost models, and BOM templates using historical project data
- Collaborate with in-house engineering teams and customer representatives to compile accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and secure current pricing and lead times
- Validate technical pricing data and vendor quotes for electrical switchboards, switchgear, and custom modular buildings
- Calculate estimated labor hours for fabrication, painting, assembly, and wiring, incorporating design engineering hours
- Produce formal customer quotations and collaborate with the Applications Team to review proposals and establish appropriate markups
- Maintain proper documentation for each Request for Quote (RFQ) while driving department process improvements
- Provide accurate cost models and margin data to leadership to support strategic revenue and profitability targets
- Collaborate closely with application and design engineers to ensure specifications are properly quoted and resolve scope ambiguities
- Build and audit robust pricing tools to ensure consistency and accuracy across all outgoing bids
This is a full-time, in-office position in Arvada, CO. The role is designated as safety-sensitive and requires participation in drug and alcohol programs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Associate degree in Engineering, Technology, Construction Management, or related field with 4+ years of estimating experience; OR 5-8 years of direct experience in estimating, costing, and technical sales in an engineered-to-order manufacturing environment
- Strong technical knowledge in the production and assembly of electrical enclosures, low/medium voltage switchboards, and switchgear
- Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Solid computer literacy in MS Office and Google Workspace tools; comfort using digital tools for data analysis and quoting
- Collaborative team player with strong sense of urgency, high adaptability, and proactive mindset to manage multiple concurrent project quotes
Bonus qualifications:
- Specialized technical knowledge of modular electrical buildings (e-houses / PDCs)
- Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, particularly Acumatica
- Familiarity with interpreting National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements
