EcoVadis, a leading provider of business sustainability ratings, is seeking a Staff AI/ML Scientist specializing in Conversational AI to join its AI Center of Excellence team. This role focuses on transforming how users interact with complex enterprise domain data by building goal-oriented, multi-step conversational agents for use cases spanning sustainable procurement, supply chain resilience, and decarbonization.
You will work within a team of over 20 scientists and engineers delivering AI solutions across the product portfolio. Key responsibilities include:
• Design and implement multi-turn, state-aware conversational systems using LLM reasoning loops (ReAct, Plan-and-Solve) and multi-agent orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, AutoGen, custom state machines)
• Innovate by adapting new frameworks and recent advances in generative and agentic AI
• Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in AI/ML
• Lead functional teams and initiatives to accelerate Conversational AI adoption
• Leverage Python, MLflow, Azure stack (Azure Cloud, Azure ML, Azure Data Factory), and Databricks to deliver end-to-end AI solutions, including model building, benchmarking, and maintenance
• Collaborate closely with customers to evaluate needs and recommend solutions that increase satisfaction and drive business value
• Stay current with technology trends in AI and apply insights to organizational challenges
The role is hybrid (4 days per month in Warsaw office) or fully remote from Poland. REQUIREMENTS:
• PhD or Master's degree in a quantitative discipline (Statistics, Applied Math, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Computational Linguistics)
• 8+ years overall experience in machine learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP), with at least 4+ years specializing in Conversational AI in production environments
• Advanced knowledge of agentic frameworks and proven track record building autonomous or semi-autonomous agentic systems at scale
• Experience leading end-to-end AI initiatives in industry, from design through implementation to integration, applying best software development practices
• Excellent mentoring skills and accountability for high-quality, timely delivery of initiatives led
• Experience with cross-functional collaboration in AI-powered product development (Engineers, Product Managers)
• Plus: Experience building conversational interfaces over complex enterprise domains (Supply Chain, Procurement, Financial Risk)
• Plus: Track record of peer-reviewed publications in top-tier NLP/AI venues (ACL, EMNLP, NeurIPS, AAAI, KDD)
