Runway is building AI-powered world models and generative tools for video and creative production. The company believes world models represent the frontier of AI progress, enabling simulation-based learning that can accelerate progress in robotics, scientific discovery, and creative storytelling.
You will join as a Senior/Staff Product Designer to shape the future of Runway's creative tools. This is a high-impact role where you'll lead design projects across mobile and web platforms, working directly with product, engineering, and research teams to define the company's design direction.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead design projects for new features and product improvements across mobile and web platforms
- Produce, iterate, and prototype concepts for creative workflows
- Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to suggest improvements and drive consistency
- Contribute to maintaining visual and UX consistency across products
- Iterate rapidly in close partnership with cross-functional teams
You should be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, able to pick up unfamiliar product areas, and excited about the creative tool space. The ideal candidate has shipped real products, understands modern web technologies and usability standards, and can move fast while maintaining quality.
Bonus qualifications include experience creating functional prototypes with AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) and artistic/creative skills in video/audio editing, icon design, typography, or illustration.
Requirements:
- Experience designing flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity UIs for web products with strong visual design skills
- Understanding of modern web technologies, web interactions, and usability standards
- Proven ability to deliver and iterate quickly in collaboration with engineering, product, and data teams
- Flexibility to iterate frequently and comfort with unfamiliar product areas
- Knowledge of the creative tool space
- Bonus: experience with AI-powered prototyping tools
- Bonus: artistic and creative background (video/audio editing, icon/typography design, illustration)
