Nutanix is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer II to join its enterprise support team in Pune, India. This role combines hands-on technical troubleshooting with mentorship responsibilities in a hybrid environment (3 days/week onsite).
You will troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues for enterprise customers running virtualized and networked infrastructure, with a focus on VMware ESXi, layer 2/3 networking, Linux systems, and cloud technologies. Key responsibilities include collaborating with product developers to identify and fix defects, analyzing customer data to improve product reliability, and working with technology partners (VMware, Citrix, Microsoft) to resolve ecosystem issues.
Beyond reactive support, you will mentor junior team members, contribute to and expand internal and external knowledge bases, and advocate for customer needs by gathering feedback and recommending product enhancements. You'll provide rotational on-call support during weekdays and off-hours as needed.
The role reports to the Manager of Worldwide Support and operates within a collaborative, customer-centric team culture that emphasizes continuous learning and knowledge-sharing. Your work directly impacts customer satisfaction and contributes to Nutanix's product roadmap.
Required qualifications: 4–7 years of SRE or similar systems support experience; strong expertise in virtualization (VMware ESXi preferred), networking (L2/L3), Linux, DevOps, and cloud platforms; excellent written and verbal communication; proven ability to resolve complex technical issues with customers; and a customer-driven mindset. A degree in Engineering or Computer Science is preferred.
