Xanadu is building quantum computers designed to be useful and accessible globally. As Senior Technical Program Manager, you will drive the successful delivery of new quantum hardware systems on schedule and within budget, serving as the high-velocity project lifecycle owner. You'll be the primary point of contact with DARPA for the QBI program, managing all aspects of program execution.
Key responsibilities include defining and maintaining the master program schedule across modular subsystem tranches, ensuring all critical milestones are met without cost overruns. You will proactively identify technical and operational blockers in the development pipeline and orchestrate rapid-response solutions. Cross-functional coordination is essential—you'll manage dependencies across all teams to ensure seamless integration and on-time delivery.
Resource optimization is a core focus: allocate personnel and specialized equipment to support critical path items. You'll drive process improvements to increase reliability and repeatability of hardware deployment and validation workflows, perform continuous system risk analysis to anticipate delays, and design recovery strategies before impact occurs.
You'll manage multi-million dollar budgets and complex technical supply chains, with vendor management responsibilities including defining tool acceptance criteria. Your leadership will emphasize accountability, timeline adherence, and resolving team-level friction.
Required: BSc or MSc in Engineering, Physics, or related field; 5+ years in technical project/program management delivering complex hardware-software systems; proven experience with US government programs (DARPA, ARPA, NIST); expertise in project management tools (Agile, Gantt, Critical Path Analysis) for hardware environments; track record managing multi-million dollar budgets and complex supply chains; exceptional leadership skills.
Preferred: experience in high-stakes industries (aerospace, satellite, quantum computing); PMP or equivalent certification; vendor management and acceptance criteria definition experience; background in automated validation workflow optimization.
Role is remote from the US with regular monthly/quarterly travel to Toronto required.
