FOSSA is a Series B SaaS platform that helps organizations manage open source compliance, security, and regulatory complexity. The company serves thousands of customers by automating license compliance, prioritizing vulnerabilities, generating SBOMs, and meeting regulatory requirements. As a Senior Strategic Customer Success Engineer, you will lead consulting engagements for prospects and customers on M&A activities involving code licensing and vulnerability audits. You'll own technical relationships with a portfolio of enterprise customers, serving as a trusted advisor on complex integrations and deployments. Key responsibilities include: leading M&A consulting engagements; maintaining ongoing technical ownership of assigned customers; designing and executing consultative deployments tailored to each customer's build environment; partnering with Customer Success Managers on technical strategy; cultivating technical champions within customer organizations; and collaborating across Product, Engineering, and Success teams to drive customer outcomes. You'll need strong scripting skills (bash, Python, Perl), hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrations (e.g., Jenkins), and the ability to write customer-facing technical documentation. Experience with threat modeling, complex technical rollout planning, and stakeholder identification is essential. You should be comfortable reproducing product defects, coordinating escalations, and working with on-call teams. This role is ideal for someone with prior experience as a Technical Consulting Engineer, Sales Engineer, or Solutions Architect. OSS license compliance consulting experience for M&A, familiarity with private/on-prem SaaS deployments, Kubernetes, and open source contribution experience are strong pluses. You should be passionate about open source, thrive in ambiguity, and excel at translating complex technical concepts for diverse audiences (lawyers, engineers, project managers).
