Turing is seeking a Sr. Staff/Staff Forward Deployed AI Engineer to lead ambitious enterprise AI deployments. You will work directly with customers to identify high-value problems and architect, build, deploy, and scale production AI systems that solve them.
This is a hands-on, end-to-end role—not research, advisory, or prototype-focused. You will operate at the intersection of Agentic AI, software engineering, systems architecture, and customer leadership, owning projects from problem discovery through production deployment and measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own AI systems end-to-end: Turn ambiguous customer problems into technical architectures and shepherd them from discovery and build through deployment, scale, and measurable business impact.
- Build production Agentic AI: Architect and implement sophisticated AI agents using orchestration, tool use, context engineering, memory/state management, RAG/retrieval systems, and multi-step workflows.
- Engineer at enterprise scale: Build APIs, services, data pipelines, integrations, and distributed systems around models while owning reliability, evaluation, observability, security, latency, and cost.
- Lead technically with customers: Work directly with senior engineering and business stakeholders, shape requirements, challenge assumptions constructively, and drive critical architecture decisions.
- Maintain high engineering standards: Stay deeply hands-on—write and review production code, solve hard technical problems, and elevate engineering quality across the team.
You will enter unfamiliar enterprise environments, understand problems quickly, design appropriate AI architectures, build critical pieces yourself, and lead solutions to production impact. You are equally comfortable writing production Python, architecting Agentic AI systems, debugging retrieval pipelines, whiteboarding distributed systems, and leading technical conversations with senior customer executives.

Location: Bengaluru, hybrid (3 days/week in office).
Requirements:
- 8+ years building sophisticated production software with deep expertise in Python, backend systems, APIs, databases, distributed systems, system design, and cloud platforms.
- Deep production experience with LLM/agent systems; strong understanding of orchestration, tool use, state & memory, context engineering, multi-step workflows, and how these systems behave and fail in production.
- Strong retrieval expertise beyond basics: embeddings, vector/hybrid search, reranking, evaluation, and diagnosing/improving retrieval quality.
- Proven track record taking complex systems from architecture through deployment and operation, with strong grasp of evaluation, observability, reliability, guardrails, latency, scalability, and cost optimization.
- Exceptional client-facing skills: navigate ambiguity, earn trust quickly, challenge assumptions constructively, and communicate complex technical decisions equally well to senior engineers and business executives.
