In this Senior Software Engineer role, you will lead the design and implementation of complex product features across the full stack, taking ownership from problem definition through delivery with minimal direction. You'll identify bottlenecks and build solutions that accelerate team velocity, applying first-principles thinking to determine what matters most. Your responsibilities include owning problems end-to-end—considering user experience, component architecture, performance, and accessibility—and building polished, responsive interfaces that translate complex insurance workflows into intuitive user experiences. You'll iterate on existing features based on user feedback and product metrics, and mentor other engineers on the team to elevate overall capabilities.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years building production web applications with TypeScript and React, with a strong understanding of modern frontend architecture, state management, and component design patterns. You should be comfortable working across the stack, collaborating on APIs and backend systems. A demonstrated track record of high agency and ownership is essential—you naturally clarify success criteria, ask insightful questions, and drive work to completion. You should have shipped high-quality user experiences without sacrificing velocity and have experience mentoring engineers.
Nice-to-have qualifications include Python backend development experience, familiarity with AWS and cloud infrastructure, experience at a high-growth startup (ideally 0-1 stage), and interest in fintech, insurtech, or regulated industries.
