As a Senior Software Engineer I - API (Tech Lead), you will play a key role in the design, development, configuration, unit testing, installation, and ongoing maintenance of Zinnia's software platforms. You will work as part of a global, cross-functional team to develop innovative software solutions that fulfill the needs of Zinnia's internal stakeholders and clients, helping them become more efficient and provide better service to end customers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to projects by creating well-designed, customized, testable, and efficient code for SE2 platforms
- Architecting, designing, developing, and validating various requirements for Zinnia platforms
- Writing REST APIs and documenting them using Open API specifications
- Managing APIs via API gateways (Kong preferred)
- Providing ongoing support, troubleshooting, improvements, and custom enhancements to existing platforms
- Acting as a mentor and technology expert for junior team members, conducting technical reviews
- Collaborating with global teams, internal stakeholders, and customers
- Interacting directly with project managers and business stakeholders, and periodically with Zinnia's clients
- Working in a fast-paced environment, recognizing and reacting to changing business needs
- Supporting challenging development and delivery needs with flexibility and self-motivation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent related professional experience
- 7-11 years of experience with languages such as JavaScript, Go, Java, Python, or Ruby
- Experience writing REST APIs and documenting them using Open API specs
- Working knowledge of managing APIs via API gateways (Kong preferred)
- Working knowledge of OAuth, SAML, and OpenID Connect protocols
- Patience and perseverance to overcome challenges, solve problems, and learn new computer languages and techniques
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills
- Effective troubleshooting skills
