Superluminal Medicines is a generative biology and chemistry company using deep biology, computational chemistry, machine learning, and proprietary data infrastructure to accelerate small molecule drug discovery. The company aims to create candidate-ready compounds with unprecedented speed and accuracy. You will join the Discovery Biology team as a hands-on, bench-focused scientist driving early drug discovery programs from hit finding through all phases of discovery. This is a senior individual contributor role with significant autonomy and cross-functional influence. Key responsibilities include: - Design, develop, and independently execute a broad array of cell-based assays to interrogate GPCR function and signaling - Generate, analyze, document, and upload experimental and screening data to company databases with accuracy and timeliness - Collaborate cross-functionally with computational, chemistry, and protein science colleagues to conceptualize and execute novel screening assays - Communicate findings regularly with program teams and present at project and company-wide meetings - Ensure compliance with laboratory practices, SOPs, and company policies for both wet lab and electronic data management - Contribute to biology strategy and execution across Superluminal programs The role is 100% onsite (5 days/week required) and emphasizes hands-on wet lab work with opportunities to lead from the bench and influence discovery strategy. REQUIREMENTS: - Ph.D. in Biology or related life sciences field - 5+ years of relevant industry experience in drug discovery - Demonstrated hands-on expertise developing, executing, and interpreting cell-based assays using multiple formats and platforms (functional assays, target engagement assays, kinetic assays, plate-based assays, flow cytometry, high-content imaging) - Small molecule drug discovery experience required - Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to develop innovative solutions to complex challenges - Ability to work onsite 5 days per week PREFERRED: - Experience with GPCR biology - Experience with assay automation, high-throughput screening, or laboratory robotics - Management experience
