Growth Platform is a unified AI-native marketing platform being built across DoorDash, Wolt, and Deliveroo. This backend engineering role sits at the intersection of product, data, ML, and marketing infrastructure, serving millions of users daily across three brands globally.
You will own features end-to-end from conception through production, building systems that unify customer data, intelligence, and execution so marketing teams can launch faster, personalize better, and learn continuously. The team is designed around agentic coding as a core engineering discipline—not as a productivity add-on, but as a fundamental way of working. You'll design workflows where AI agents handle entire task loops, think in terms of human-agent orchestration, build internal tooling to make AI-assisted development faster and more reliable, and stay ahead of emerging models and tools.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building backend systems that power marketing at scale across three international brands
- Designing and shipping features with real ownership and measurable impact
- Collaborating across backend, data, ML, and product teams in a cross-functional environment
- Leveraging AI agents and agentic coding workflows to accelerate development and reliability
- Maintaining strong engineering fundamentals: testing, observability, reliability, and maintainability

REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong engineering fundamentals: proven track record of building and shipping software that runs at scale, with deep understanding of testing, observability, reliability, and maintainability
- Genuine enthusiasm for AI-first development; daily use of AI tools with formed opinions on maximizing their value
- Ownership mentality: drive projects forward, communicate clearly across teams and time zones, take initiative without waiting for direction
- Collaborative instincts and comfort working across disciplines (backend, data, ML, product)
- Experience building real software products, platforms, APIs, or apps with production reliability experience
- Active experimentation with AI agents and agentic coding workflows; ability to redesign development loops from first principles
- Strong communication skills and genuine care for product outcomes alongside code quality
