Salary: USD 130,000 - 175,000 / annual

Terran Orbital, a leading satellite manufacturer serving aerospace and defense industries, is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for Electrical Power Systems. Reporting to the Product Director of Electrical Power Systems, you will drive cross-functional coordination for the design and development of complex electrical power modules for advanced satellite constellations. You will serve as the primary coordination hub across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and program management, ensuring seamless communication and execution of deliverables. Key responsibilities include leading planning and execution of module development programs aligned with technical requirements, budget constraints, and schedules; proactively identifying issues and driving structured problem-solving and root-cause investigations; preparing and presenting development status reports, risk assessments, and escalation briefings to senior leadership; partnering with program managers to manage cross-program dependencies and mitigation plans; and organizing technical reviews, design checkpoints, and key decision forums to maintain engineering rigor. This role requires demonstrated ability to lead without formal authority, drive accountability, and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. You will translate complex technical issues for both engineering teams and executives, and maintain development alignment while ensuring timely escalation to leadership. The position is based in Irvine, CA, operating in a professional office environment within a manufacturing company setting. You will routinely use standard office equipment and program management tools. The role is generally sedentary with substantial computer usage, though you may occasionally visit manufacturing areas. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline (Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering) - 5+ years of project or program management experience in hardware development environment - Strong understanding of hardware development lifecycles and manufacturing release processes - Demonstrated ability to lead without formal authority, drive accountability, and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines - Experience with program management tools (MS Project, Jira, Confluence) and ability to produce high-quality presentations - Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complex technical issues for engineering teams and executives - Must be a U.S. Person or lawful permanent resident in compliance with U.S. government space technology export regulations - Position may require current United States National Security clearance or eligibility for such clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience with battery systems and battery management systems (BMS) design - Knowledge of spacecraft power budgeting and analysis - Background in Systems Engineering and Integration of spacecraft systems
