ClearGov is building the modern financial operating layer for the public sector, helping over 2,000 US local governments and school districts plan, budget, report, and communicate their finances. The company is scaling from $50M to $150M ARR over the next 3-4 years.
You will build and lead the Project Management Office function from the ground up as a Senior Manager. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic vision and tactical execution. You'll design repeatable processes and templates, participate in client escalation calls, and coach a growing team of project managers.
Key responsibilities include:
**Team Leadership & Talent Development:**
- Build, hire, and lead a high-performing team of Project Managers and Implementation Managers, scaling in line with company growth
- Establish career pathing, performance management, coaching frameworks, and onboarding programs
- Foster a culture of accountability, client-centricity, and continuous improvement
- Act as a player-coach—hands-on in delivery while developing direct reports into future leaders
**PMO Build-Out & Process Ownership:**
- Stand up the formal PMO function: governance model, methodology, and delivery playbooks for public sector implementations
- Design and implement standardized templates for project charters, implementation plans, status reporting, RAID logs, and change orders
- Define and continuously improve intake-to-close delivery workflows for consistency and scalability
- Establish KPIs and dashboards to track project health, resource utilization, on-time/on-budget delivery, and client satisfaction
You should take ownership and follow through, communicate clearly and effectively, solve problems, learn quickly, and care about team success. This is a foundational leadership role shaping how ClearGov delivers, implements, and retains government clients at scale.
