Despegar, Latin America's largest travel-tech platform with 25+ years disrupting the travel industry, is seeking a Senior Commercial Planning Analyst to lead strategic optimization of the commercial team. You will transform manual processes into intelligent, AI-driven workflows while driving high-impact initiatives and accelerating results through data-driven analysis and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead end-to-end commercial optimization projects: Design, execute, and scale initiatives that increase B2B commercial team productivity managing the regional travel agency portfolio. Focus on key levers: purchase frequency, conversion, coverage, portfolio activation, management quality, and effective selling time (freeing the team from non-commercial tasks). Own the full cycle from diagnosis through implementation and impact measurement.
2. Structure data-driven business cases: Identify opportunities, formulate hypotheses, define success metrics, and build business cases justifying investments in technology, processes, or automation. Prioritize by impact vs. effort.
3. Iterate through agile experimentation: Monitor initiative performance, validate hypotheses with pilots and A/B testing, identify what works, and adjust quickly to maximize impact or discard ineffective approaches.
4. Manage CRM implementation and optimization: Lead CRM deployment (ideally HubSpot) for agency portfolio management. Design automated commercial workflows, configure integrations, and ensure team adoption through training and support.
5. Execute AI automation projects: Design and implement solutions using AI agents, prompt engineering, and no-code tools that eliminate repetitive commercial tasks and multiply team productivity.
6. Develop commercial intelligence: Create interactive dashboards, analytical models, and automated reports on sales, portfolio, and commercial activity. Define KPIs, build funnels, and project targets aligned to budget.
7. Coordinate cross-functional initiatives: Work with Revenue, Product, Marketing, IT, and UX teams. Gather feedback, co-design solutions, negotiate priorities, and ensure aligned execution across teams.
8. Design scalable governance and processes: Establish work frameworks, define commercial operation policies, and build end-to-end processes that function consistently at regional scale without manual intervention.
Requirements:
Education: Professional degree in Engineering, Economics (Economics, Finance), Actuarial Science, or related fields.
Must-Have Hard Skills:
- Applied Artificial Intelligence: Prompt engineering, AI agent design and use
- SQL: Queries, database manipulation, and analysis
- Process Design: Mapping, optimization, and workflow automation
- Advanced Excel: Pivot tables, macros, financial modeling
Experience: Minimum 2 years in Business Analyst, Commercial Planning, or similar roles with focus on business analysis, metrics, and process optimization.
Mindset: Seeking builders, not just executors. People who take ownership, question the status quo, experiment rapidly, and scale what works.
Desirable:
- English (conversational or advanced)
- Portuguese (for collaboration with Brazil teams)
- Python (for advanced automation or predictive analysis)
- CRM experience (ideally HubSpot)
