Crux is a capital platform for the clean economy, modernizing capital raising and deployment for clean energy and critical infrastructure. The company has raised $77 million from top-tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz and Lowercarbon Capital, and operates a $500 million debt facility with Nuveen. With 120+ team members and over 120 transactions closed in the last two years, Crux is scaling rapidly. The Market Intelligence practice is one of Crux's most visible functions, producing reports and proprietary data that move the market and define deal pricing and structure. Currently, much of this data is assembled manually. You will join the Data Team as a Data Engineer, embedding with Market Intelligence to build foundational datasets and pipelines that power research, publications, and client deliverables. You will own the Market Intelligence data foundation, building and maintaining pipelines for survey responses, pricing series, volume and capacity forecasts, and buyer participation. This includes extraction, transformation, scheduling, and monitoring across the entire data path. You will automate survey processes end-to-end—ingesting, cleaning, and joining data that is currently handled ad hoc—so that scaling the survey program does not require scaling manual cleanup hours. You will ensure data reaches reporting layers cleanly, enabling findings to be visible in dashboards, tools, and publications without analysts stitching data together each time. As bespoke research scales, you will help productize recurring questions into repeatable queries. With the data foundation in place, you will help move it onto firmer ground through input validation, documentation, version control, and reproducible outputs. You will identify and drive additional use cases across other teams. This is a build role at an early moment. You will have more context on Crux's data than anyone else in the room and are expected to use that context to drive decisions. The datasets you create will be the substrate for intelligence products through 2027 and beyond. Crux operates remote-first with optional offices in DC, NYC, and co-working opportunities in the Bay Area, Seattle, Denver, Boston, and LA. The company brings the entire team together three times per year for offsites and maintains a culture of high growth and high ownership.
