You will serve as the Specialist for Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE), supporting operations across the organization on all matters related to health, safety, and environmental compliance. This role is based in South Texas with occasional regional travel and on-site visits to job sites as needed. Regular in-office attendance is not expected, though you will travel approximately 30% of the time.
Key responsibilities include:
HSE Operations Support:
- Complete incident reports, perform post-accident investigations, and communicate learnings across business groups
- Conduct interview processes and investigation steps for management review
- Advise workers on safety policies and procedures
- Respond to support tickets via ZenDesk and Zoom phone to ensure positive worker experience
- Attend and participate in client safety meetings and perform site audits
- Serve as the Safety subject matter expert during client audits
- Resolve internal and external escalations in a timely manner to maintain positive relationships
- Provide onsite participation and support for safety measure reviews, including in high-hazard situations
HSE Program Support:
- Analyze loss data, identify trends, and make recommendations to improve safety outcomes
- Create and maintain reporting, policies, and programs
- Coordinate with legal, people team, field operations, and worker experience teams to roll out HSE initiatives
- Measure the impact and success of HSE initiatives through field partnerships
- Support vendor pre-qualification by completing OSHA 300 logs, EMR data, and workers' compensation liability certificates
Business Trends and Mentoring:
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in the energy sector
- Make recommendations to management on programs and processes to increase RigUp's market competitiveness
You will work in a fast-paced, field-focused environment where you build scalable programs, strengthen compliance, and ensure the workforce is equipped, informed, and safe. The role requires strong analytical skills, deep understanding of safety regulations, ability to translate data into actionable improvements, and excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant working experience
- 5+ years of experience with HSE, safety, and/or program and process management
- 2+ years of experience in HSE and/or risk management
- Experience working in high-hazard industries
- Experience proposing and building new programs from the ground up
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to address difficult questions
- Experience working in fast-paced environments with changing priorities
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle
- Ability to travel 30% of the time
- Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions and occasionally traverse uneven surfaces
- Ability to ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and similar structures
- Participation in on-call rotation
